Dublin is Ireland's largest city and it's capital.

The city is home of approximately one third of the country's population. Dublin - a city with a Viking heritage, old city walls, Georgian squares, a long literary tradition, is also a city of fine parks, gardens and green spaces. There are a great number of parks, ranging from historic parks, nature reserves, pocket/local and neighbourhood parks, Georgian squares, coastal, riverside and linear parks. Just three kilometres from the city centre is the largest, and most attractive, enclosed City Park of Europe - The Phoenix Park, a National Park, with an area of seven square kilometres is managed by Dúchas-The Heritage Service in Ireland.

Dublin Corporation's Environment and Culture Department, Parks and Landscape Division, is responsible for the overall management of the majority of Dublin's city's green spaces and are engaged in landscape planning, design, and maintenance.
